Foo Fighters performed “The Line” on Ellen on Friday, and at the end of the performance when host Ellen DeGenerous came to greet the band drummer Taylor Hawkins appeared to try to hit the drums to scare and prank her, but Ellen wasn’t shaken, and both laughed. Hawkins appeared to say, ‘I almost got you.’ Watch the attempted prank below followed by the full performance.

Foo Fighters have just toured Australia and New Zealand, and now it has been revealed that frontman Dave Grohl’s mother – Virginia Hanlon Grohl – is set to come Down Under for the BIGSOUND conference.

The former teacher and author is set to talk about her book, From Cradle to Stage, and raising musicians, Music Feeds reports.

The publication reports that Virginia interviewed the mothers of stars including Adam Levine and the late Amy Winehouse for her book.

BIGSOUND will be held from September four to seven.

Dave, 49, was recently in Australia on tour with his band.

In January and while in town, Dave revealed on The Project that he once was in Australia and jetted back to his home in Los Angeles for a day, so he could attend his daughter’s school event.

He said after the event, he then jetted back to Australia for his tour commitments.

Worried about his reputation and looking ‘soft’, the star confirmed the statement and joked: ‘Don’t bring it up around the other guys.’

‘Every year they have a Daddy-daughter dance at their school,’ he explained.
