Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett slipped and fell on his effects pedal board during the band’s show on Wednesday in Milan, Italy. The accident happened during “Moth Into Flame.” Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx commented, “Happens.” Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt commented, “Kill it til ya spill it! Awesome.”
Hammett slipped and fell backwards, hitting the ground with his feet high above his head. Hammett laughed it off, and quickly started playing again without missing a beat.
Immediately following the show, Hammett took to his Instagram to post video of his fall from two different angles and included the following caption: “Ummm- I slipped on my wet wah pedal. It rained so much I felt like I was playing guitar in the shower – #slipperywhenwet #wahwahwah #metallicafamily #Metinmilan @metallica”
Lars Ulrich wrote about the show, “Now that was fuckin special Milan… very wet and very cold, but all it did was bring us closer together!
