otisserie has announced an ambitious new studio project featuring Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament that has already recorded 4 songs.

“Here’s a seldom seen photo of Jeff Ament tickling the Keys of a Whirly, and laying down a sweet melody. Today Jeff, Mario Rubalcaba And Myself started a creative endeavor to just book time ( We have been talking about it for years ) in a recording studio without ever playing together before, No Practice, just get in there and see if we can record some songs.

I’m stoked to say we recorded 4 Songs today with Ben Moore at the controls, And maybe Ben will record some keys on some songs too! A really good vibe today spawned some rad stuff. All 3 of us Skateboarders and Musicians. ©️2018 Photo By O. @chimbot @benmooremusic.”

Ament was recently interviewed on The Powell Movement, and he revealed that Pearl Jam are indeed hard at work on a new album, their first since 2013’s Lightning Bolt. Alternative Nation transcribed his comments.

“We’ve sort of been in writing mode here in Seattle the last couple of months. A typical day is getting together with anywhere from one to four of the guys and making music.”
