The Smashing Pumpkins audio engineer Bjorn Thorsrud has passed away and the same was announced by the band. He passed away at the age of 58. The reason of his death has not been disclosed. Pearl Jam Planning Massive 2022 Concerts

The band took to their official Twitter account to let the fans know the heartbreaking news.
The Tweet read: “The SP family is saddened by the sudden passing of friend Bjorn Thorsrud. Bjorn, seen here at the original Pumpkinland, worked with the band from Adore to Oceania as a producer and engineer. Please join SP in extending your condolences to his friends and family. He will be missed”

Thorsrud has also engineered, mixed, or has contributed production or programming to every record of the band since 1998’s Adore to 2012’s Oceania. He had previously worked for the Taj-Motown Record Company and established his own record label, Tri Records. He held a bachelor’s degree in physics and music from the University of Nevada, Reno.
