Stone Temple Pilots Finally Announce New Singer, And He’ll Blow You Away

After a two year singer search, Stone Temple Pilots have finally announced that their new singer is Jeff Gutt, who has been rumored to be a contender for the job since fall 2016. It’s been a tumultuous few years for STP, the band fired Scott Weiland in February 2013 and hired Chester Bennington to replace him in May 2013. Bennington quit STP in November 2015, and Weiland died from a drug overdose in December 2015. STP announced their singer search in February 2016, and performed a one off reunion show with Bennington in March 2016. Bennington died by suicide in July 2017.

Hey look up here ^everyone!!! It’s another dried up stinky dick licker with no talent or actual real contributions to society other than just making us all feel better about moving out of our parents homes. This could have been us, if we kept up the strict regimen of playing video games, smoking bowls, waiting for mom to make dinner and of course beating it like it owed you money.
Have a nice night Aardvark! And happy whackin!

Your mommy is an awesome dick licker.

Loved Scott but sadly he was gone before he died. This Wildabouts’ video of Scott singing “Big Empty” from 2015 is heartbreaking. Take it easy on Jeff Gutt. He’s just trying to help STP carry on.

WOW that is a rough watch, never seen that before, amazing what boos and drugs can do to you

  • Eddie Yarler

Wow, I really thought STP would either give up after being unable to find someone, or

AIC and STP both have so many good tunes. They should make own way with their new singer. We do not forget our legendary bands.

He sounds like he can pull it off but I’d rather see a Weiland hologram.

      Right on Kay
Now if only I could see a hologram concert of Soundgarden from 1992.

I didn’t like Gutt’s performances of Creep or Bohemian Rhapsody on X-factor but here he sounds pretty good on Plush and Interstate. I think like Duvall he maybe able to do the old material justice and that’s all the Deleos really need. I think what put him over Borja is that he also plays guitar just like Duvall does which both the Pilots and Chains didn’t have with Weiland or Staley respectively. As far as new material, it should be interesting to hear. Gotta be weird for Gutt performing a large body of material that he had no hand in creating.

I listened to the new single this morning. I like Gutt’s sound, but it was unnerving and eerie how much he sounds like Scott. It made me miss Scott all the more, but I appreciate what Gutt did with the song and STP. For the first time, I have a little faith that STP can carry on. Unbelievable how close Gutts voice is compared to Scotts on the new single.
