Tool had announced a mammoth 2022 world tour several months back, with the Los Angeles-based band playing locally in Boston at TD Garden on February 19. However, the venue has made some strict virus requirements. It was previously noted that Tool added a surprising name to 2022 Tour.

TD Garden reveals new virus protocols

The website read that effective January 15, 2022, all the guests will be required to show proof of vaccination to be allowed entry to TD Garden. A proof of negative virus tests will no longer be accepted for entry.

The City of Boston Mask Mandate will continue to be in effect, requiring all guests 2 years old and over to wear a mask while indoors, unless actively eating or drinking. The fans that are unvaccinated will not be allowed to attend the concert at TD Garden.

Per the City of Boston, these types of proof of vaccination will satisfy the entry requirement:

  • A CDC vaccination card
  • A digital image of your CDC card
  • An image of any official immunization record, or
  • A [virus] vaccine verification app. Examples include Clear Health Pass, Common Pass, Key to NYC, VaxYes, IATA Travel Pass, and the Excelsior Pass.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention consider “fully vaccinated” as having one dose of a single-shot regimen, such as the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, or two doses of an mRNA vaccine such as Pfizer or Moderna. At this time, booster shots are not required under the new mandates.

“It is with great pleasure I get to announce our return to the road,” said Danny Carey in the past while announcing the Tour. “These past 18 months have been trying to say the least but from great trials come great lessons and great rewards. We are genuinely looking forward to sharing them with you.”

Tool last toured 2 years ago, with their tour ending prematurely in March 2020 as the pandemic began.
