Rage Against The Machine singer Zack de la Rocha has been working on his debut solo album off and on for the last 18 years, but it has never been released. Zack did release “Digging For Windows” in 2016, which appeared to be the lead single for a new album, but the release was quietly canceled. Run The Jewels’ El-P discussed producing the album in a new Peoples Party podcast interview. Alternative Nation transcribed his comments. Prophets of Rage’s vocalists recently revealed if they will step in for Zack again after the Rage Against The Machine reunion.

The interviewer asked, “Has all that music come out?”

El-P responded, “No, none of that music has ever come out. It’s interesting, a lot of people don’t know that, but right when they broke up, Zack straight up just came to Brooklyn and lived in my apartment for like a month, and he wanted to work with the guy from Company Flow on a solo record. What was that like? It was probably great for me, and not so great for Zack. There were 5 of us living in my apartment, I was making beats in my bedroom. He didn’t leave with much music.”

Zack de la Rocha having a girlfriend was revealed last week. El-P added, “He was just a fan, and he was kind of one of the first dudes to come to me. Let’s be real, at the peak of Rage, he could have literally gone to any producer on the planet. He came to my apartment in Brooklyn, that’s how real Zack is. He is one of my best friends, I consider him to be family.

I also think he is one of the most genuinely sincere real down to earth people in this business that I have ever met. It seems that way from a distance, but you almost don’t even believe that anyone is quite that real, but he really is that dude.” The Rage Against The Machine reunion tour is being banned by a big name.
