Soundgarden and Vicky Cornell are in a legal battle over the band’s social media accounts. Soundgarden made a pitch to either hand over the accounts, or make a post stating they’re shut down during litigation.

The suit states, “Personnel confirmed the situation: ‘Vicky [Cornell] has since changed all the social media passwords for the band accounts and will not share them with [Patriot] as she wants the band, and I quote, too ‘sue her for them.’”

Vicky’s side states, “Ms. Cornell also objects to this Interrogatory to the extent that it seeks to acquire information without properly compensating Ms. Cornell for her time and effort in establishing and maintaining Soundgarden’s social media accounts or reimbursing her for the money that she spent in establishing and maintaining Soundgarden’s social media accounts.

Ms. Cornell further objects to this Interrogatory to the extent that the Soundgarden Defendants solely want the social media accounts in order to maliciously defame Ms. Cornell, incite stalkers (both real and virtual), provoke online trolls (as Matt Cameron did in his March 27, 2020 social media posts) and to instigate third-parties to potentially violence and continue to harass Ms. Cornell and her minor children.”

Soundgarden members Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron, and Ben Shepherd currently run Nudedragons social media accounts. Vicky’s team have shut down comments on the Soundgarden Instagram.
