Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, joined by members of the Voice Of Chicago, will perform at President Barack Obama’s Farewell Address tonight in Chicago. Obama will leave office on January 20th when President-elect Donald Trump is sworn in. Vedder was filmed rehearsing “Rise,” as seen in a video below via Pearl Jam Online.

Pearl Jam members Eddie Vedder, Jeff Ament, and Stone Gossard attended a fundraiser for failed Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton at the Paramount Theater in Seattle in October. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis appeared at the event, with tickets ranging from $250 to $27,000. Vedder, Ament, and Gossard reportedly met with Clinton for 5 minutes.

At a Pearl Jam concert at Madison Square Garden in 2016, Eddie Vedder sang about his support for Clinton and Bernie Sanders.

‘Even I’d be better than some of these men/Fuck Donald Trump/It’s like his penis gets smaller every time he says huge/I like Hillary but I can feel the Bern/All you young voters it’s time you were heard/Please don’t stop don’t ever give up.’

Many other alternative rock stars weighed in on the 2016 U.S. Presidential election. Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan discussed President-elect Trump and Clinton on InfoWars in June.

“Look at it from a very simple equation. You have a nationalist populist [Trump] who is saying: ‘Everything is broken, and it needs to be fixed.’ Many many people feel that way, and that idea can only resonate if many many people feel that something needs to be broken before it can be fixed. Then on the other hand you have basically an open globalist [Clinton] saying: ‘Everything is fine, nothing to see here, let’s just march forward and we’re going to make it better.'”

Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis discussed Clinton and Donald Trump in a recent Classic Rock Magazine interview, “[Donald Trump] is not a likeable person. He’s a cartoon of a person. He says very unrealistic things about Muslims and race in general that make no sense at all. Because people are just people, y’know? Good and bad in all race and all religion. But sadly the real conundrum is that Hillary [Clinton] is not any better. She is just as much of a tyrant.”

Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic announced that he has donated the ‘maximum contribution’ he could to Libertarian Presidential candidate Gary Johnson in June. Novoselic donated to Republican Ron Paul in the 2012 election. He also compared the 2016 election to being “like Nirvana in 1991. The Johnson/Weld ticket can capture imaginations to bolt to the top.”

Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum discussed Hillary Clinton in an interview with WRIF in June.

“Don’t ever get like oh hey, I got left out of that, or I got left out of this. The idea is gratitude. I heard Hillary Clinton talk about this the other day. They were asking her about her faith, and she said she studies gratitude every day. I thought if we have a President who is pushing a sermon of gratitude, that sounds pretty good to me. Because we’re always kind of nay saying on everything in life, but we seem to forget what we have.”

Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor discussed Clinton and Bernie Sanders in a recent Daily Beast interview.

“Since it’s down to two people, there’s no question that 100 percent of my support is going towards [Hillary Clinton].”

“I’ll admit that I was more enthused about Bernie in terms of the sense of upheaval and revolution. I’m not saying anything that isn’t very obvious here, but that passion and that ignition of feelings—of wow, we could affect change—is the same way I felt before Obama got in. I feel less passionate about Clinton, personally.”
