Alice In Chains tweeted a birthday message for their late frontman Layne Staley on Wednesday. The iconic singer would have turned 51 on August 22nd.

“Happy birthday Layne. We love you and miss you.”

Legendary former Screaming Trees frontman Mark Lanegan also paid tribute to his late friend. He tweeted, “Miss you brother.”

It’s been a busy week for Alice In Chains, as Komo News reports that legendary Seattle grunge band played a private concert atop of Seattle’s iconic Space Needle Tuesday night.

The band is gearing up for their new album release, “Rainier Fog” on Friday. The Space Needle’s new all-glass floor known as “the Loupe” served as a fitting background against the smoke-covered city – which kind of looks like fog.

Loudwire are reporting that Alice In Chains really know how to build buzz for their new album. Though Rainier Fog won’t drop until Friday, Seattle scavengers might be able to get a copy of the album before its official release. The game is simple: 10 signed copies of Rainier Fog are hidden across Seattle and each CD contains two tickets to Alice in Chains’ mystery record release gig.

The band shared a map today on Twitter with the following message: “We’re performing in a secret location in Seattle on Friday. We’re hiding 10 signed Rainier Fog CDs around the city as a ticket into the show for you and a guest – keep an eye on our IG story for details on these 10 hidden locations. Check IG and FB for more info.”
