Dave Grohl, Bruce Kalman, Tyler Anderson, Nick Shipp, and Duff Goldman covered “Fortunate Son” by Creedence Clearwater Revival on Saturday at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. This afternoon of food and music was conceived by a group of friends to help support the LA Regional Food Bank and their tireless work to alleviate hunger in our community.

The version of “Fortunate Son” was a bit sloppy when it came to the original lyrics, but Dave Grohl turned it into a very fun version, albeit with different words.

He started out by saying, “I hope I remember this song.”

At times he sang lyrics about cooking BBQ, and eating treats.

“You got lots of treats, you got some ice cream, you got some pizza.”

He said at one point, “This is some keg party shit, just so you all know. This is what happens, when a bunch of people who cook food start a rock and roll band, and that’s what happens when a bunch of people who play rock and roll try to cook food. I wish I knew how this song goes, I don’t think it matters anymore.”
