Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Dave Navarro shared a magazine cover on Instagram, commenting on how his haters who disliked him as John Frusciante’s replacement found him ‘odd.’ Navarro’s chemistry issues with the band and his drug addiction have been cited as reasons behind his 1998 firing.

Navarro wrote on Instagram, “In hindsight I can see how some found me to be a bit ‘odd.’ Haha fuck it, I love pushing the boundaries! Push the boundaries before pushing daisies -”

He also posted, “It’s always an honor to play with the king, what you can’t see in this picture is the massive eruption of electricity that took place when he walked out on stage to join us! People lost their shit! Navarro also wished Jane’s Addiction bandmate Perry Farrell a happy 60th birthday.

“More than half our lives spent together. Happy Birthday brother! @perryfarrellofficial @ettyfarrell.”

Farrell is set to release a new solo album called Kind Heaven in June, his first solo record in 18 years.
