Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl recently had high praise for Billie Eilish, saying that her connection with an audience is the same thing that happened with Nirvana in 1991. Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder also appeared to agree with Grohl’s complimentary remarks. Vedder told Easy Street Records, “That new record is great. That new Billie Eilish record is so great.” Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor retweeted a new tweet about Eilish. The original tweet by Rey said, “Billie Eilish is what Björk was to the 90s.” The tweet response that Taylor retweeted said, “i wonder if u guys know how disrespectful u are sometimes.”

It was reported that Grohl said at Pollstar Live last month, “My daughters are obsessed with Billy Eilish. And what I’m seeing happening with my daughters is the same revolution that happened to me at their age.

“They’re becoming themselves through her music. She totally connects to them. So we went to go see her play… and the connection that she has with her audience is the same thing that was happening with Nirvana in 1991.”

“I would call that rock n roll. When I look at someone like Billie Eilish, I’m like…shit man….rock n roll is not even close to being dead…”

Grohl later clarified his reported statement on Twitter.
