The Rolling Stones icons Keith Richards and Mick Jagger have announced their thoughts on the death of Dr. John, Malcolm John Rebennack, an American singer-songwriter. Mick Jagger recently shared an emotional photo where he passionately kissed a The Rolling Stones bandmate.

Mick Jagger wrote, “Will really miss you Dr. John, I remember all our night tripping !”

Keith Richards wrote, “Love you, Mac! RIP.”

CNN reports:

Dr. John, a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and a six-time Grammy winner, died Thursday morning from a heart attack, said publicist and social media manager Karen Beninato. Dr. John, whose real name was Malcolm John Rebennack Jr, was 77. Beninato’s post on Dr. John’s Facebook page said memorial arrangements will be announced. Dr. John “created a unique blend of music which carried his home town, New Orleans, at its heart, as it was always in his heart,” she wrote.

Photographer Gered Mankowitz recently discussed photographing Keith Richards.

“In 1966, I photographed each individual member of the Rolling Stones at home so as to create a stock library of these more personal and individual images for press use. By this time there was an increasing demand for such images and the band hated the idea of having unknown photographers coming to their homes.

Keith is photographed here at his glorious home Redlands in West Sussex with his beloved Bentley motor car, which he called Blue Lena after the great singer Lena Horne. By this time, Keith and I had become pretty close, and the entire day was a joy of picture taking and giggling with Keith showing his own particular take of this rather cheesy ‘at home’ format!”
