Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith has uploaded a video on Instagram of what he called a performance at home where he ‘struggled.’ Former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar commented, acting stunned that Smith would think it was a poor performance. There were recent Van Halen reunion tour rumors involving Sammy Hagar.

Smith wrote, “Key to a good shuffle.. subtle grace notes and swing. Which both today I struggle with.”

Hagar commented, “That does not sound like you’re struggling to me Dr. Smith! Dats a bad ass shuffle right there. Let’s write a song with that come on brother.”

Hagar and Smith are bandmates in Chickenfoot, along with Michael Anthony and Joe Satriani.

Sammy Hagar discussed his new album with the Circle Space Between in a new Classic Rock interview.

“It’s about the division between good and bad,” says Hagar of the album. “All these big corporate guys that are billionaires to begin with ripping off their employees, people bombing churches, the right hating the left, the left hating the right, the blacks hating the whites. It used to be that you could go to hell, the devil was somewhere else. But the devil is at sea level now. The solution lies in the space between us – that handshake in the middle.”
