Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan recently made a tweet to promote his Sunday appearance on former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar’s Rock and Roll Road Trip show on AXS, and it led to a famous BBC radio host making a remark that Maynard wasn’t too pleased with. Keenan recently announced that the new Tool album release date is August 30th.

Maynard tweeted, “Join @dirkflanigan & @mjkeenan talking food, music, & wine w @GuyFieri & @SammyHagar on his Rock & Roll Road Trip Sunday, July 7th #RRRT”

BBC radio host Daniel P. Carter responded, “This is like Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young for 2019…”

Maynard James Keenan hit back, “Calm down. Easy, there, beardo.”

Sammy Hagar heads to Jerome, Arizona for an interview with Maynard James Keenan in anew ‘Rock and Roll Road Trip’ episode at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on AXS TV, with the interview taking place at Keenan’s Caduceus Cellars winery.

Keenan said regarding what formed his early musical influences, as Tool perform songs in odd time signatures, “I remember running cross-country in high school, and everybody has their own breathing rhythms, right? It’s just supposed to be in-out, right? I was actually running to the [footsteps].

So, if you’re going over hills, or down hills, or in chuck-holes, or whatever, my breath would follow those rhythms.” Keenan said he listened to Pink Floyd and AC/DC.”Odd time signature stuff. And that was kind of like the running. You’re kind of following some of that… So, just naturally it’s easier for me to write to things that are outside four-four.”

Sammy Hagar took a bold shot at David Lee Roth on Friday, with Eddie Van Halen sharing a surprising photo.
