Stone Temple Pilots will be releasing a never before heard Tiny Music…Songs From The Vatican Gift Shop song called “Kretz’s Acoustic Song” on the 25th anniversary reissue. The song features Eric Kretz playing every single instrument.
Dean DeLeo told Rolling Stone, “I always really loved that song, even when Eric laid it out for us back in ’95 or ’96. What I dig most about it is that Eric played everything.”
Dean DeLeo, going through the tape vault to assemble this new edition of the album was an emotional experience. “Re-listening to this album brought back some beautiful memories of all of us living, writing, and recording the record in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley,” he tells Rolling Stone. “And of course, every time I revisit this stuff I miss Scott.”
STP singer Jeff Gutt said on Facebook, “In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of our 3rd album Tiny Music… Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop we are releasing the Tiny Music 25th Anniversary Remaster on July 23rd!
The reissue will include unreleased early takes, alternate versions, instrumentals, and full concert audio from the 1997 MTV Spring Break Rocks performance in Panama City Beach, FL.
