KISS frontman Paul Stanley recently shared details about an exciting new band formed by his son Evan Stanley and Gene Simmons’ son Nick Simmons during an interview on Howie Mandel Does Stuff. The two have known each other all their lives but only began making music together about eight months ago.

The band, called Stanley Simmons, is currently recording their debut album with Grammy-winning producer Rob Cavallo, best known for his work with Green Day.

Paul Stanley praised their music, describing it as a mix of Crosby, Stills & Nash, Simon & Garfunkel, and a touch of Alice in Chains. He said the songs are really strong and showcase a sound very different from what their famous fathers are known for.

“It’s terrific. It’s so funny because they’ve known each other their whole lives and I think it was eight months ago they started singing and playing together,” Stanley said.

Evan Stanley already has music experience as the frontman of the band Amber Wild, which opened for KISS during their “End of the Road” farewell tour. Nick Simmons brings a creative background that includes voice work on Robot Chicken, writing the comic Incarnate, and past vocal contributions to songs by his father Gene Simmons and former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick.

“They started about eight months ago and they’re neck deep in an album with Rob Cavallo who produced Green Day and I mean, the list just goes on. They’re called Stanley Simmons,” he continued.

“Their music is fantastic. It’s somewhere between Crosby, Stills, and Nash and Simon and Garfunkel and a little bit of Alice in Chains. It’s just really like a great group of songs,” he explained.

The duo kicked off their project with an acoustic cover of “The Sound of Silence” by Simon & Garfunkel, which gained attention on Instagram. They’ve since recorded 10 original tracks, with help from Emmy-winning songwriter Jacob Bunton.

Stanley Simmons continues to share behind-the-scenes clips and music previews on social media, where Paul Stanley has shown his support by commenting with encouragement like “Magic!!!!”
