AC/DC Festival Suffers Sudden Tragic Death

A 53-year-old man was found dead at this year’s Bonfest. Bonfest is an annual festival held to celebrate the life and music of Bon Scott, the lead vocalist of AC/DC. The event is held at Kirriemuir, a small town in Scotland which is Scott’s hometown.

The body was found on the second day of the festival on Saturday, April 30. A Police Scotland spokesperson said that police officers attended a report of the death of a 53-year-old man at the Bonfest Festival Site near Kirriemuir. The police did not treat the death as suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal, just like with all sudden death cases.

The Bonfest Committee issued a statement saying they were greatly saddened by the death. The next of kin were informed and there were no suspicious circumstances. The Committee extended their thoughts to the man’s family and friends.

Bonfest took a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic. At the festival, AC/DC fans from all around the world come together for three days. The best AC/DC tribute bands from around the world along with some special guests come together at the festival.

Bon Scott, real name Ronald Bedford Scott, lived in the town till he was six. He left with his family for Fremantle, Australia to stay there.
