During a new interview with WAAF, Alice In Chains singer/guitarist William DuVall discussed eating on the road and visiting restaurants while on tour. He revealed that he pitched a television series last year hosted by himself to networks featuring himself as the host, with appearances by Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, and Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro. Alternative Nation transcribed the quote.
“I actually created a show last year that I think is gold. I shot basically like a teaser, and I got a lot of my friends and peers to do cameos for the teaser. I just thought, this is a shoe in, and we took it around to different networks, and they weren’t quite ready for it. For some of the more, shall we say, ‘well known’ networks that deal in this area, their actual words about me were: ‘He’s a bit too cool.’
I kid you not, I was really quite taken aback by that. I guess I’m not screaming at the camera the whole time and putting on a clown show. I don’t know what they want, maybe they want more of a game show host kind of thing. I still think that show is valid and killer. I got Duff McKagan in it, I got Lars Ulrich in it, Dave Navarro, I still think it’s a great idea, so I haven’t given up on that.”
