Foo Fighters are wrapping up another successful tour, and speculation is swirling whether the band might take a well-deserved break. In the past, the Foo Fighters have been known to take breaks after extensive tours. This allowed the band members time to rejuvenate and focus on other projects. Fans are now wondering if a touring hiatus could be on the cards again.

Foo Fighters might go on a hiatus

Fans are hopeful for more shows, particularly in Dave Grohl’s home state of Virginia. Venues like George Mason University or the Jiffy Lube Amphitheater in the DC area are high on the wish list. A hometown show would be a fitting way to end this touring chapter, but whether it will happen remains up in the air.

Foo Fighters have more than earned a break after being on tour for the better part of the last two years. Back in 2018, band frontman Dave Grohl noted that when the band’s ‘Concrete and Gold’ tour would wrap up they would be going on a hiatus.

“It’s a challenge, you know?” Grohl told Billboard in an interview dated 2018. “You kind of set these goals for yourself, to see if you can do it again, even when you’re crawling to the finish line you know that it’s there. So here we are at the last set of shows. We’ve been on for a year and a half and I’m ready to take a break, but I’m ready to do it again at some point.”

A similar thing could happen now. Grohl has never been one for long hiatuses. Even after Nirvana ended; Grohl had released the Foo Fighters debut within a year-and-a-half.

Beyond touring, there’s also chatter about a potential new album. With the recent addition of drummer Josh Freese to the lineup, fans are curious if he’ll be part of the next album. If a new album is on the horizon, it would mark Freese’s first studio work with the Foo Fighters, adding a fresh dynamic to their sound. Freese is an experienced and versatile drummer and his contribution could bring an exciting new edge to the band’s music.

Nthing has been confirmed yet by the band but the idea of Foo Fighters taking a break before diving into a new project seems plausible. Whether it’s a hometown show in Virginia or the creation of a new album with Josh Freese, the future looks bright for Foo Fighters fans. We will have to see what Foo Fighters has in store for the fans.
