GNRfanMILO is reporting on MyGNRForum that a never before seen photo of Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose in 1998 during his reclusive years has surfaced. It was uploaded by Emet Galeana to the #GnFnR Fanspot Facebook Group.

Emet wrote, “This is a photo of Axl and I at his home in Malibu July 2, 1998. You actually can see Axls leg tattoos which many people didn’t know he has!! He also signed my UYI 2 CD book and this is my collection in Guns N Roses tickets from Mexico, USA, South America, Norway and even my GNR fan club card.”

This is a rare photo where Axl Rose’s leg tattoo is visible, which he got in 1998. After performing at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, Rose did not make a public appearance until debuting a new Guns N’ Roses lineup in January 2001 in Las Vegas, and he was rarely photographed during this mid to late 90’s period, outside of some fan pictures and a 1998 mugshot.

Rose intermittently worked on what would become Chinese Democracy during this period, with Slash leaving Guns N’ Roses in 1996 followed by Matt Sorum and Duff McKagan in 1997. Robin Finck, Buckethead, and many other members would come and go as the years went on.
