Foo Fighters once played “Times Like These” and popular actor Jim Carrey played his leg like a guitar. During Bass Nerds Podcast, Tim Lefebvre recalled the moment between Carrey and Foo Fighters from 2003.

Tim Lefebvre talks about Foo Fighters and Jim Carrey

Here is what he said [as transcribed by Alternative Nation]: “I used to sub on Saturday Night Live, they were the band one night. Foo Fighters from one by one came out.And Christopher Walken. Chris Walken introduced him as like, Foo Fighters. During that episode, they played ‘Times Like These’. And f***ing Jim Carrey jumps on stage. And he’s dancing with one leg behind his head, hopping around, f***ing peeing our pants. ‘Oh, he’s a madman’. It was so funny. But you can’t find it anywhere.”

It is worth mentioning that Foo Fighters have stood as a pillar of rock music. They emerged in 1994 from the shadows of Nirvana’s tragic end. Dave Grohl reinvented himself as a songwriter with the group’s breakthrough second album, The Colour and the Shape, in 1997. From that moment on, Foo Fighters have been a relentless force in rock and they have shaped the genre’s future with their distinctive sound and enduring presence.

The Dave Grohl-led band has earned 15 Grammy Awards and secured a well-deserved place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It is an outstanding feat for a band that was once considered merely a side project for Dave Grohl to move on from his recent past. Over the years, they have released 11 albums and maintained immense popularity across various musical eras, a testament to Grohl’s distinctive and successful approach to rock music.

The band has a long and winding history but certain aspects of their story can easily get overshadowed by the volume of their music, success, and even tragedy. However, one constant throughout the band’s journey has been their penchant for comedy. This affinity for humor is no surprise. Even Dave Grohl had already revealed in his time with Nirvana that comedy is an intrinsic part of who he is.

Meanwhile, Dave Grohl recently dedicated a performance of ‘Times Like These’ to Tom Morello at Open’er Festival. Morello and Grohl were both performing at the festival in Gdynia, Poland. While the former Rage Against the Machine guitarist was side-stage for the Foo Fighters set, Grohl walked up to him to play up close and personal. A delighted Morello was throwing up the horns before the two embraced.
