Pearl Jam are currently touring in support of their twelfth album, Dark Matter, which reached number two on the UK albums chart. It has come to light that several South American music sites have been reporting that Pearl Jam will go on South American tour in March and April 2025. It is also somewhat evident that the band will perform at Lollapalooza Chile in April 2025 but it lacks confirmation.
Pearl Jam had to call off multiple shows
Recently, the band announced that their two upcoming concerts in Berlin on July 2 and July 3 had to be called off due to illness in the band.
In their statement, the band shared that the band have “yet to make a full recovery” after falling sick last week. They continued: “The impacts of this decision are not lost on us. We feel deeply that so many people spend their time, money, and emotional energy to get tickets and then to come see the band and it is heart wrenching to have to disappoint you.”
Pearl Jam had also called off a concert at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend. The concert was slated to take place on Saturday, June 29th, was canceled due to the same reason. The Seattle band had performed at Manchester’s Co-Op Live arena ahead of cancellation. The band frontman Eddie Vedder had explained that he was unwell. He further revealed that he was having difficulties with his voice. However, the latest post from the band is short on detail stating only that the London show was cancelled “due to illness in the band”.
Pearl Jam returned to the stage in Barcelona earlier this month and Eddie Vedder shed light on the health issues he was dealing with.
A fan-shot footage posted to social media showed Eddie Vedder addressing the crowd ahead of a performance of “Wasted Reprise,” sharing, “the last week it almost felt like a near death experience. It was very uncomfortable and it got frightening.”
The comments came following a performance of “Just Breathe,” with Vedder saying the issue was chest-related. “It felt like maybe you couldn’t breathe, maybe you wouldn’t make it through the night, maybe you’d have to go to the hospital,” he said.
Eddie then noted that it wasn’t just him, and “a few of us” had it.
“You just realize how precious this life is, how lucky we are to have been living on a planet where we could go round and play to incredible people like the people in this room here tonight,” he added. “So, it was a poignant experience. I won’t be forgetting it anytime soon and we won’t be forgetting tonight anytime soon.”
