The Smashing Pumpkins performed in Seattle at Key Arena on Friday night, and the performance was broadcast live professionally shot on Twitter. The stream ended up getting a total of 1.1 million views throughout the night, with many praising the performance, especially past fans who hadn’t followed the band in a long time. Billy Corgan’s voice sounded great, but sadly there isn’t currently an archived video of the show, though one clip has been uploaded to Twitter.

Corgan doesn’t say nearly as much now at concerts now, but he did talk a bit about Seattle. He talked to James Iha onstage about the first time they came to play in Seattle in 1990 to open for Tad, who he called a great band. He asked Iha what venue it was, and they seemed to think it was the Crocodile, a venue that Alice In Chains happened to be playing on Friday night. Corgan mentioned he doesn’t talk much at shows anymore, and mentioned people being at home doing heroin in Seattle. He then reiterated that he should just shut up and play.
