Christie Brinkley is showing heartfelt support for her ex-husband, Billy Joel, following his recent diagnosis with a brain disorder. Over the weekend, she took to Instagram to post a loving message alongside a video of herself and their daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, enjoying one of Billy’s past concerts in New York City.
In her caption, Christie revealed that the whole Brinkley family is sending their love and best wishes for Billy’s full and speedy recovery. She reflected on the joy he brings to people through his music, saying, “You turn an arena of strangers into a living room full of friends as we all sway in unison.” She added that everyone wants to see him healthy and back on stage, calling him “OUR Piano Man.”
She ended her message with warmth and encouragement, writing, “We love you—the kids, me, and an arena or two!” Christie and Billy were married from 1985 to 1994 and share a daughter, Alexa Ray Joel.
Billy Joel recently revealed that he has been diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, a brain disorder where excess fluid builds up in the brain’s cavities. He explained that recent concert performances have worsened his symptoms, which now include difficulties with hearing, vision, and balance. As a result, all of his scheduled shows through July 2026 have been canceled while he focuses on recovery.
