The first video of AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson singing in 2019 has surfaced from a recent ‘Life on the Road’ television special. In the video, Mark Knopfler and Brian Johnson sing “The Hole In The Ground” by Bernard Cribbins. He sounds stunningly good, what a welcome surprise to fans!

Johnson broke his silence in a new interview a couple of months ago, seeming to be in good spirits, with Eddie Trunk also claiming that a new album from AC/DC was coming with Johnson back in the band with Phil Rudd and Cliff Williams, as they were spotted recording in Vancouver last year.

Johnson last sang with Mick Fleetwood in Hawaii in March 2018. Johnson and Fleetwood played “(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66.”

Ultimate Classic Rock reported at the time, “Johnson’s appearance…serves as the latest indication that he may be finding a way to work back from the debilitating physical problems that threatened to end his singing career. He’s expressed hope that a new type of in-ear monitor might alleviate that issue, but he’s also hinted that pride may have played a part in his exit from AC/DC, suggesting in a recent interview that he wanted to walk off on his own terms before he really couldn’t perform anymore.”

Johnson also performed “Back in Black” with Muse at the Reading Festival in 2017.

Rolling Stone wrote at the time, “Brian Johnson made his long-awaited return to performing AC/DC songs live when the singer joined Muse onstage for ‘Back in Black’ during the band’s Reading Festival set Sunday.

The surprise cameo marked the first time Johnson has tackled an AC/DC track live since March 2016, when the singer, on the recommendation of doctors, was forced to quit touring as he struggled with hearing problems that threatened ‘total deafness.'”
