Bruce Springsteen Reschedules Philadelphia Arena Show
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have postponed their upcoming Philadelphia date after an NBA playoff scheduling conflict forced a change at the venue. The concert, originally set for Friday, May 8, will now take place later in the month, shifting the band’s plans along the New Jersey Turnpike.
The Asbury Park Press reported that the May 8 show at Xfinity Mobile Arena has been moved to Saturday, May 30 because the Philadelphia 76ers advanced in the NBA playoffs and will host a postseason game at the same building that night.
According to the report, the 76ers’ upset win over the Boston Celtics created the scheduling crunch, with Philadelphia set to play the New York Knicks at the arena on the original concert date. With the building committed to the playoff game, Springsteen’s performance was pushed back three weeks.
The rescheduled date adds to the high-profile run of attention around Springsteen in recent months, including moments when he made headlines for speaking out on politics during live appearances.
No further changes were indicated in the report beyond the Philadelphia postponement, and fans planning to attend should now mark May 30 as the updated date for the Xfinity Mobile Arena stop.
