Chad Kroeger Casino ‘Rockstar’ Clip Resurfaces, Goes Viral Again

Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger is trending again after an old casino clip resurfaced online, showing the singer interacting with a fan who asks him to perform. The short video, which appears to have been filmed several years ago, has been recirculating across social media and is drawing fresh attention for Kroeger’s visibly intoxicated state and his blunt exchange with the person recording.

In the clip, Kroeger is seated when the fan calls out to him and asks if he will sing “one more time.” After initially snapping back at the request, he ultimately agrees to sing and delivers a few lines from “Rockstar” before grabbing for the phone and telling the fan to “f–k off.”

The exchange begins with Kroeger responding, “Would you shut the f–k up?” before asking what song the fan wants to hear. When she says “Rockstar,” he appears irritated but sings part of the first verse, then pauses and repeats his profanity-laced dismissal as the fan laughs, suggesting she was not offended by the moment.

The resurfaced footage is likely to reignite familiar conversation around Kroeger’s offstage reputation, which has come up in the past, including claims that other musicians have described him as difficult to deal with in certain situations.

Nickelback wrapped their most recent tour in November and have not announced new dates, leaving fans unsure when “Rockstar” will next appear in a live set. For now, the revived clip is serving as another reminder that the band’s 2000s-era hits still travel fast online—sometimes for reasons completely unrelated to the stage.
