Late Linkin Park and Stone Temple Pilots singer Chester Bennington’s sister Tobi recently checked into a hospital for 8 days. This was a very brave decision on Tobi’s part that anybody struggling should consider. I have a good friend who recently did this to take care of his mental health.

Tobi tweeted on July 24th, “Dear #LPFamily, good evening from New Jersey. I hope you all are well. I will be radio silent for the next 5 to 7 days. And I’d be forever grateful if you could say a silent prayer of support. I will miss you all but I’ll be back soon. My heart is with you all. Xoxo.”

She then tweeted on Sunday, “Dear #LPFamily, thank you so much for all of your kind prayers and generous support since July 24th. Knowing that so many of you were pulling for me helped me find the strength to do something extremely difficult. I don’t think I could have done this without you. Love you all. XO”

“I was in a crisis & needed help immediately. I checked myself into the hospital where I remained for the next 8 days. My medication was adjusted & I am in a much better place now. While inpatient we talked a lot about the stigma & how to end it. I hope I’m part of the solution.?”

She wrote to a struggling fan named Kricket, “But you are my hero. You’re fighting and that takes courage and strength. You can handle more than you think. Be patient and kind to yourself. It will get better. You are not alone. I’m always here if you need me. I believe in you. ?”

She wrote to another named Kelly, “You’ve definitely not given up. You are reaching out and we’re all here for you. Try to feel your breath and slow your thoughts. Know that I’m hugging you right now. You are important and needed. May your strength grow stronger with my love. ?”

When Tobi checked into the hospital last month, her mother Susan tweeted her, “My heart is with you baby girl! Forever! Love you more than you will ever know! ❤️?❤️?❤️?”

“You are the best daughter in the world! ❤️?❤️?❤️?”

Chester Bennington died by suicide on July 20, 2017.
