Earlier this week, Jaime Bennington (son of the late Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington) revealed that he and his family are allegedly being stalked online by someone who claims to be possessed by Chester.
On Saturday (Jan. 4), Jaime shared an update about the situation in a 45-minute Instagram video.
“So, today, the situation with Quantum Lyricist escalated,” he began. “I found out that they’ve been making videos about me.”
Jaime went on to share that he has officially reported the stalker and blocked them on social media, and has contacted the police.
“I reported her and I blocked her. I should not have any more problems with this person, but just for my own safety, I did report this to the police. I am currently, and will be submitting evidence of the death threat and the threatening behaviour that has been carried out not just to me but apparently the others because that energy that I was receiving was present through all of the media that I looked through,” he said.
“I don’t want anybody attacking this person, I don’t want anybody doing anything necessary,” he emphasized. “We don’t promote hate, even if what she said was violent, even if what she said was gross, even if what happened was inappropriate or unacceptable. It’s important to remember that everyone’s having a hard time right now.”
“I’m not condoning what she did but I will say this after going through the media present on her page, I see somebody who is challenged,” he added. “I see somebody who may or may not be a victim of a number of things, someone who very clearly did want me to interact with them in a certain way— probably would have been nice for them— and I wasn’t able to.”
He continued: “What happened is not okay, that’s why I reported to the police, that’s why I’m going through the process of getting a protection order.”
Jaime then revealed that based on this person’s social media posts, it appears they have been hospitalized. “According to their most recent story post 6 hours ago, she’s in the hospital, she’s being hospitalized for something. It seems as though she may have had a psychotic episode or been in a psychotic episode. I don’t mean that in a judgmental way.
“It does seem serious to them, it does seem like they are really going through something. As far as I could see, they believe that they have been poisoned by lithium, they are being attacked by the government. All things that are real things. I’m not saying that lithium poisoning is necessarily real, but we know that the government does some shady stuff.”
“Some of the things they are talking about on social media are real. I am not going to tell you that what they may have gone through isn’t real,” he concluded.
