Chris Christie Shares New Photo With Springsteen
Former New Jersey governor Chris Christie posted a new photo alongside Bruce Springsteen days after an awkward concert clip went viral, offering a friendlier follow-up to a moment that sparked speculation among fans online.
NJ.com reported that Christie shared an image showing the pair smiling together backstage, after a brief viral video appeared to show Springsteen missing Christie’s attempt at a high-five while moving through the crowd during “10th Avenue Freeze-Out” at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
In the report, Christie framed the newer picture as evidence that there is no bad blood, writing that he was “backstage with Bruce” and calling the night “another incredible show.” The outlet added that Springsteen’s attention appeared focused on navigating the crowd in the earlier clip, and that other fans’ outstretched hands were also missed during the walk-through.
Springsteen and Christie have had a complicated public relationship over the years, with the singer criticising Christie’s politics while Christie has repeatedly described himself as a devoted fan who has attended a large number of Springsteen concerts.
The new photo has been widely shared as the latest data point in a story that blended concert spectacle, politics, and social media scrutiny around one of New Jersey’s most famous cultural figures.
