Tool have announced on Facebook that Justin Chancellor is now recording his bass parts for the band’s new album, which likely means that Danny Carey’s drum recording is done.
Tool wrote on Facebook, “JUSTIN’S bass setup in the studio. Sounds like he is making great progress recording in ‘a great studio.'”
Tool performed at Northern Invasion last month, and the band performed “Sober” live for the first time since 2014. Maynard James Keenan also called out his bandmates Danny Carey, Adam Jones, and Justin Chancellor onstage to finish recording their parts for the band’s 12 years in the making new album so he can record his parts and finally finish it.
“I’m afraid of bananas, and other forms of fruit, because eventually you wonderful people are going to run out of fucking patience. So I beg you Danny, Adam, and Justin, please finish your parts so I can finish mine.”
Tool’s new album has become the Chinese Democracy of the alternative rock world. Guns N’ Roses’ Chinese Democracy was in the works for nearly 15 years by the time it came out in 2008.
