Courteney Cox drums Nirvana classic

Courteney Cox surprised fans by posting a new video on Instagram of herself drumming along to Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” In the clip, Cox is seen sitting behind a drum kit and confidently locking into the song’s famous groove, one of the most recognizable drum parts in rock history. She impressively was able to keep time, though she’s still got work to do to reach Dave Grohl’s level!

She captioned the post with a nod to the song and tagged a popular drumming account, quickly drawing reactions from fans and friends alike. Many praised her timing and energy, while others were stunned to see the Friends actress take on a grunge classic so convincingly.

Cox has occasionally shown her passion for rock and roll on social media, but taking on Nirvana struck a chord for many of her Gen X followers. The video quickly spread across Instagram, with fans sharing it widely and celebrating a 90’s icon covering a Grunge classic.

Nirvana Win Nevermind Cover Lawsuit

The lawsuit brought against Nirvana by Spencer Elden, the baby on the iconic cover of Nirvana’s 1991 album “Nevermind,” has officially been dismissed.

According to Billboard, federal Judge Fernando M. Olguin ruled in favor of Nirvana on Tuesday (Sept. 30th), stating in his ruling that the image of Elden does not have lewd intent.
“Neither the pose, focal point, setting, nor overall context suggest the album cover features s*x*ally explicit conduct. This image — an image that is most analogous to a family photo […] — is plainly insufficient to support a finding of [lewd photography].”

This is the second time Judge Olguin has dismissed the lawsuit. He first did so in 2022, a year after Elden filed the case against the grunge group. At that time, Olguin ruled that the statute of limitations had expired – a decision overturned by an appeals court in 2023, which reinstated Elden’s lawsuit.
