Dave Grohl was not only an idol, bandmate, and amazing musician to Taylor Hawkins – but he was also a friend, and a best friend at that. All this to say that the feeling was very mutual from Dave Grohl to Taylor Hawkins as well. Time has flown by since the sad passing of the drummer, Hawkins. With the length from the passing, Dave Grohl has been silent, that is, until now.
In Grohl’s first public appearance in months, he made his re-debut with Paul McCartney as McCartney made a triumphant return to Glastonbury this weekend, and along with bringing out Bruce Springsteen to duet on Glory Days.
After this, he also surprised everyone when Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl made his first public performance since the passing of Taylor Hawkins to accompany Macca with amped up versions of The Beatles’ “I Saw Her Standing There” and Wings’ “Band on the Run.”
Dave took the stage and fans rejoiced. There were many fans at the show that have been worried about the wellbeing of Dave Grohl as he has also been silent on all social media platforms. Grohl took the stage with the legendary Beatle and he showcased a tattoo in memory of his great friend, Taylor Hawkins.
There is still no word on how the Foo Fighters will move forward, or if they will at all after the tribute shows that are due to take place which will feature the band bring lots of special guests to properly lay their friend and bandmate to rest. The future for the Foo Fighters is hard to see moving forward as Hawkins was such a huge part of the band, but we believe that the Foo Fighters will figure out a way to continue to push out music under either solo acts or under a new name.
