At their September 15th concert at The Observatory in Santa Ana, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl created one of those unforgettable ‘Good Guy Dave’ moments fans will talk about for years.

Dave Grohl fulfills fan’s wish

During the set, Grohl noticed a young fan in the crowd holding up a handmade sign that read he was being bullied at school and that his dream was to play guitar with the Foo Fighters. The message immediately caught Grohl’s attention.

Stopping mid-show, as transcribed by Alternative Nation, Grohl acknowledged the sign and said, “I see you brother. Okay, here’s what’s gonna happen. At one point in this song, I’m gonna hand you my guitar and I want you to make as much noise you can with that.”

True to his word, the legendary rocker made his way into the crowd and handed over his instrument to the wide-eyed fan.

To the surprise and delight of everyone in the venue, the kid began to play, and he killed it. Fans erupted as the fan showed his skills, turning what could have been a minor gesture into an inspiring moment.

Fans have praised Grohl online for his compassion and generosity, with many noting how the experience must have been life-changing for the kid who bravely shared his story in front of hundreds.

Grohl, long admired for his down-to-earth nature and connection with fans, once again proved why he is one of rock’s most beloved frontmen and ‘Good Guy Dave,’ even after a year of negative press.
