Megadeth are currently in the midst of their farewell tour. While frontman Dave Mustaine expects the run of shows to last “three to five years,” he’s already thinking about what life after retirement might look like.

In a new interview with Classic Rock, Mustaine revealed that one of his post-retirement ambitions is to pursue acting.

“I wouldn’t mind studying acting,” he said. “I’ve already done a ton of stuff on TV – hosting game shows, appearances in small sitcoms and movies – so I’m very accustomed to being in front of the camera. I think that might be fun to do.”

Mustaine added that he’s serious enough about the idea that he’d even consider cutting his iconic hair if a role required it.

“If they asked me to cut my hair, I’d be willing to do it!” he admitted. “But it would have to be for a guaranteed part – and a big part, to make that kind of a commitment!”

Mustaine also revealed that he hopes to spend part of his retirement supporting and mentoring up-and-coming musicians.

“I really want to share my gift with younger musicians,” he said. “Actually, it doesn’t even have to be a younger musician. [If] it’s somebody that’s a little bit older and they want to learn what it is that makes Dave tick, I don’t care about their date of birth, I just want to be able to share. I’ve been gifted [from God]. I wouldn’t be this good on my own.”
