Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro recently took to his Instagram account and dropped a cryptic post. His caption read:

“I was re-reading Whitman’s Leaves of Grass and it occurred to me that there is a strong parallel between his work and that of our own. The leaves represent the cycle of life and death, yet he continued to work on the body of poems until his own death in 1892. Perhaps he, like us, was unable to fully understand his own work as he continuously tried to re-write, add and expand upon it, willing away his own work’s cycle of life… just as we have. Perhaps it’s simpler to recognize when something is gone and learn from the magical lesson of grief rather than avoid it and remain in a consistent state of dissatisfaction.”

Dave Navarro scuffle with Perry Farrell

This comes after Navarro apologized to Jane’s Addiction openers. Jane’s Addiction fans at the concert in Boston on Friday saw a shocking scuffle between lead vocalist Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro. The incident saw Farrell appearing to purposely tackle Navarro on stage, leading to a heated confrontation that left both the audience and band members shocked.

Footage captured by fans shows that Farrell, in the middle of his meltdown, attempted to use his microphone as a weapon against his bandmates.

The tension between Farrell and Navarro reportedly escalated after Farrell got in Navarro’s face and began hurling insults at him. A confused Navarro could be seen asking what was going on, but before anyone could intervene, Farrell lunged at him. The situation intensified as Farrell started swinging punches, though it’s unclear if any landed on Navarro. Perry Farrell has also apologized to Dave Navarro after their battle onstage.
