Stray From The Path drummer Craig Reynolds created a bit of a stir online after he tweeted, “Happy to announce I am the new drummer for Foo Fighters.”

The comment – which seems to have been made in jest – came on Friday (May 30th) after his current band, Stray From The Path, surprise released what they claim is their final album.

While Reynolds was discussing his future plans following Stray From The Path’s disbandment, he wrote on Twitter/X, “I do want to join another band. My only criteria is that it tours Japan at least once an album.” He then added in a separate tweet: “Happy to announce I am the new drummer for Foo Fighters.”

Leaning into the joke, one fan shared an image of a doctored Wikipedia page listing Reynolds as Dave Grohl and co.’s current drummer. “At first I didn’t believe but then I believed,” the fan captioned the photo.

Some fans expressed excitement about the possibility, with one writing: “Hell yeah. The Foos with blast beats? Sign me up.”

Others, however, did not seem too thrilled. “Craig you’re better than that,” one person commented.

Last month, Foo Fighters parted ways with drummer Josh Freese – who joined the band in 2023 following the death of Taylor Hawkins in 2022.

As of now, the band has yet to make any official announcement regarding Freese’s exit or who will be replacing him.
