Elizabeth Warren Slams Ticketmaster After Trump Move
Sen. Elizabeth Warren has aimed fresh criticism at Ticketmaster, arguing the ticketing giant is benefiting from political decisions that leave fans paying the price. In a new post, the Massachusetts Democrat linked the ongoing backlash over ticketing fees to what she described as a major win for the company under President Trump with the DOJ’s ruling in Live Nation’s antitrust case.
Warren said artists including Taylor Swift, Pearl Jam, Olivia Dean, Zach Bryan, Oasis and The Cure have all “spoken out about Ticketmaster ripping off fans,” and claimed Trump “just gave Ticketmaster the equivalent of a corporate pardon,” calling it “a betrayal of every fan in America.”
The senator’s comments land as Ticketmaster remains a lightning rod in music and politics after many people perceiving that the DOJ gave Ticketmaster a light slap on the wrist, with fans and performers repeatedly complaining about service fees, dynamic pricing and limited transparency around final costs at checkout. Warren’s post also underscores how scrutiny of ticketing practices has spread beyond the industry itself, becoming a broader consumer-protection issue that lawmakers continue to raise.
While Warren did not cite a specific policy action in her post, she framed the situation as a moment where enforcement or accountability has been weakened, and she used the list of high-profile artists to argue the complaints are widespread across genres and fan bases, though she didn’t mention Kid Rock’s actions against Live Nation.
Ticketmaster and its parent company Live Nation have faced years of criticism and legal challenges over competition and pricing practices. Warren’s latest statement is likely to add to pressure for renewed oversight as fans head into another heavy touring season.

Zach Bryan
Oasis
The CureWhat do they all have in common?
They've all spoken out about Ticketmaster ripping off fans.
But Trump just gave Ticketmaster the equivalent of a corporate pardon.
It's a betrayal of every fan in America.
