Fan Rushes Stage To Get To Dave Grohl At Foo Fighters Show, And He Isn’t Happy

A reader named James has sent Alternative Nation the following report:

Hay,

Unsure if media are breaking this.

Tonight at the Foo Fighters concert in Perth, Australia, a kid (teens) rushed the stage. He ran from around the mixing desks in the middle of the field down the extended stage and hugged a clearly unhappy Dave Grohl.

Dave ushered him to security after the hug.

How inept is security at gigs? One day a performer could be hurt.

Brings memories of Billy Corgan.

Love the site!

Daily Mail posted additional details about the show:

The 49-year-old rocker with a potty mouth poked fun at people who had not seen the band perform live before, making exception for one young fan in the front by dedicating Hero to the excited boy.

Grohl also reminisced about the band’s last Australian tour when he famously ducked home between the Adelaide and Perth shows to attend a father-daughter dance.

He got food poisoning at the dance and was sick during the flight back to Australia, so he treated himself with some Guinness before carrying on with the Perth show.

“It’s got medicinal qualities,” Grohl quipped.

The rest of the band was also given moments to shine, especially drummer Taylor Hawkins, who debuted his new Japanese drum set and performed on an elevated stage for a solo, before taking the lead vocals for Sunday Rain.

He also switched roles with Grohl at one point as they performed the Queen and David Bowie classic Under Pressure together.
