There is a huge possibility that Foo Fighters might be a part of James Bond. It has been reported by Daily Mail that James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli is hopeful of changing up the James Bond theme song. While the previous Daniel Craig iterations of the film franchise have tilted toward more soulful ballads, she is hoping to try something new in an attempt to lure in fresh fans.

It has come to light that James Bond’s newest theme song is set to make a drastic break away. The 62-year-old producer who created the Bond franchise with her half-brother Michael G. Wilson, is still on the quest for the perfect star to fill 007’s shoes after Daniel Craig stepped down from the role. Reports suggest that she has been working hard on some new ideas for the theme song.

Barbara Broccoli eyeing major changes

The most recent Bond movies starring Craig, 56, have been accompanied by very soulful ballads – but now, Barbara is said to be keen to ‘mix it up’ in an attempt to lure in new fans to the spy franchise.

”Barbara is very interested in having the next Bond theme to be more fun, more pop rock and not filled with as much sorrow as the last few themes have been,” as per DailyMail.com.

The outlet also added that Barbara ‘loves’ what pop icons Billie Eilish, Sam Smith, and Adele have done in the past with iconic 007 tunes. However, she doesn’t want to rest on her laurels as far as their successes are concerned.

”It would be safe to go down that path again, especially since they all won the Oscar,” the source continued.

”But this next Bond needs to mix it up and return to having a song in the vein of Duran Duran’s, A View to a Kill,” they added.

Foo Fighters could be onboard

As per the outlet, the James Bond theme needs to be an anthem. However, it has to be upbeat and able to both ‘resonate with both established fans of the series and new fans as well.’

”Barbara feels someone like Bruno Mars or The Weeknd could do something fun, or a band like the Foo Fighters or Adam Levine by himself or with Maroon 5 could have a catchy and fun theme,” the outlet said. The possible inclusion of Foo Fighters certainly grabs the attention immediately.

They added the famed producer knows that being offered a Bond theme is a ‘once-in-a-lifetime experience’ for any artist and she’s eager to find a younger star to fulfil the converted position.

”Barbara knows that being offered to do a Bond theme is a for any artist and she wants to go younger, and whoever gets the final call, it will be because it is different from what is has been in the last several films,” they explained.

”That is the one must that needs to be met when they do the theme for the next movie, it needs to be an exciting song that is remembered forever.”

It was back in 2020, that popular singer Billie Eilish became the youngest person to ever perform a title track for the spy film series, which began in 1962. It received a positive reaction from the fans that the track gave them ‘chills’ and showered praise on her haunting take on the Bond theme song. Billie wrote the song No Time to Die with her brother Finneas, and the two also created her debut album together.

Recently, Lana Del Rey revealed that she wrote a theme song for the James Bond film Spectre – but it was rejected in favor of Sam Smith”s Writing’s On The Wall.
