Fans are often concerned when their favorite band member suffers health issues. The global music icons and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Foo Fighters were set to be the final day headline act at the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix but they recently confirmed that their Sunday performance was called off due to ‘unforeseen medical circumstances’.
It was revealed that a member of Foo Fighters was taken to hospital from an airport in Chicago on Thursday, which led to the cancellation of the race-day concert at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday. This is according to The National News, who said a member was ‘rushed to the hospital.’

The band were en route to the UAE to perform on the final night of the Yasalam After-Race Concert series. In an exclusive interview with The National, concert promoter John Lickrish recalled receiving the news at 2.30am UAE time on Friday. The band flew by private plane from Los Angeles to Chicago, where they would then board an Etihad Airways flight direct to Abu Dhabi.
The Flash Entertainment announced a no-show on their social media channels at 3pm on Saturday with an added statement from Foo Fighters: “The band apologises for any inconvenience or disappointment caused by this unexpected turn of events.”
The LollaCL is currently promoting the performance of Foo Fighters in March as they sent out a Tweet. But that doesn’t relieve the fans as the concerns continues regarding the band member being hospitalized.
One of the fans on Reddit wrote: “I’m extremely concerned that they haven’t given us any more info.” The band has not officially commented about the situation on social media as of yet. While another user wrote about not being aware that the concert was happening as no word came from F1 or the band, though Chris Shiflett did tweet about an upcoming solo show, making some fans hope the situation is improving.
