Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea responded to Fox News host Greg Gutfeld’s criticism of the Chili Peppers in an interview with NME over the weekend. “I remember seeing a poll recently that said people who watch Fox News knew less about world affairs than people who watch no news at all. It’s clearly a funny program. It doesn’t faze me, not really,” Flea said. “I heard that. It’s funny. I don’t care. They’re all welcome to hate us. God bless ’em.” Touché.

Gutfeld responded on yesterday’s episode of The Five on Fox News, “After I said that the Red Hot Chili Peppers were the worst band on the planet, I then apologized, and I said they were the worst band in the universe. Flea, the bass player, responded, and he said that he didn’t mind. He said that it was great, he thought our show was funny, and it was okay to have your own opinion, and was very happy. I thought this was a really great example of how differences can be solved so easily by simply agreeing with me.

Co-host Jesse Watters responded, “You wanted a fight, come on.”

Gutfeld said, “He agreed that his band is terrible.”

Kimberly Guilfoyle complimented the Chili Peppers, “The ladies love them, don’t worry.” She added, “Don’t worry about that little tick over there Flea.”
