It seems like everybody has a podcast these days, so why not Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy corgan?
Titled “The Magnificent Others,” Corgan’s new podcast will launch this upcoming Wednesday, February 5th as part of Bill Maher’s Club Random Studios, with episodes available on both streaming platforms and on “The Magnificent Others” official YouTube channel.
The upcoming interview lineup is quite impressive, with the podcast’s trailer revealing Corgan has already spoken to Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine), Gene Simmons (KISS), Corey Feldman, Sharon Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Dean DeLeo and Rob DeLeo (Stone Temple Pilots), Pat Benatar, Robby Krieger (The Doors), Rick Springfield, and many more.
As described in the trailer for “The Magnificent Others,” the podcast “is a long-form show where we explore with great artists, musicians, anybody I truly admire, and take you into their inner story about how they got to be so great.”
Corgan continued: “Look, we’ve all heard great interviews from great artists. We hear the war stories, we are here to figure out what made them great and what keeps them great. We want to hear fresh stories, we want to hear fresh perspectives, we want to understand the times from their individual perspectives. Join me on ‘The Magnificent Others,’ a very curious and one-of-a-kind exploration of these great minds.”
As part of the podcast’s announcement, snippets were shared from a few of the interviews, with KISS’ bassist Gene Simmons telling Corgan: “I’m sorry.” The reason for the apology, however, is not yet clear and will be revealed when Corgan’s interview with Simmons drops.
