Sully Erna Confirms Relationship With Dorothy Martin

Godsmack frontman Sully Erna has publicly confirmed he is in a relationship with Dorothy Martin, the singer of the rock band Dorothy, after discussing the pair’s connection during a recent radio appearance. The disclosure arrived as Erna also promoted a forthcoming collaboration between the two artists.

During an April 23 interview on SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk,” Erna said he and Martin connected after both went through difficult past relationships and channelled that experience into a new song together, describing their track “Set Me Free” as a hard-rock “banger” due out soon, BLABBERMOUTH.NET reported.

Martin, who recently turned 40, told host Eddie Trunk she is “thrilled” about the relationship, saying, “I love this man,” and adding that Erna is a “good, solid man” who makes her feel safe. She also said the two built a friendship over months and that she has “never laughed so much” in her life.

Erna, 58, has also spoken about the collaboration in other press, describing “Set Me Free” as a “bad-ass, boot-kicking rock song” and praising Martin’s voice as smoky and bluesy, with the session taking place with producer Scott Stevens. The romance news follows past public attention on Erna’s dating history, including previous Alternative Nation coverage noting his earlier comments about having dated Lady Gaga.

With the relationship now out in the open, attention is likely to turn to the release date for “Set Me Free” and whether the pair will perform the song together live as promotion ramps up.
