Green Day’s set at Germany’s Hurricane Festival this past Monday (June 23rd) came to an unexpected halt when frontman Billie Joe Armstrong briefly paused the show in order to confront a misbehaving audience member.

In footage of the incident, Armstrong is seen being repeatedly hit in the face with water from a squirt gun while the band performed their 2004 track “Jesus of Suburbia.”

The frontman noticeably gets increasingly frustrated, flipping off the fan before eventually deciding to remove his guitar and walk over to the edge of the stage to have a word with them.

While you can’t hear exactly what he says, it appears Armstrong mouths the words: “You f*cking better quit it or I’ll beat your ass. You understand me?”

This disruption was only temporary, with Armstrong quickly getting the show back on track. After issuing the warning to the audience member, he walked over to his microphone, picked up his guitar, and continued the performance as if nothing happened.
