Michael Sweet recently condemned people celebrating Charlie Kirk’s passing, calling it “pure evil” and “unfathomable” to mock someone’s murder. He reminded that Kirk was a father, husband, and son, and stressed the need for empathy and respect for life.

Sweet said free speech doesn’t excuse hateful responses and was glad some people are facing consequences for their words. He urged others to learn from this, warning that the real battle is against spiritual darkness, and encouraged standing for truth, being bold, and shining light in a dark world.

ABC recently pulled late-night host Jimmy Kimmel off air indefinitely over comments he made about the shooting of right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live will be pre-empted indefinitely,” a spokesperson for the Disney-owned network said in a statement.

Earlier this week, during his show, Kimmel said that the “Maga gang” was trying to score political points off Kirk’s killing.

The suspension came just hours after Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr threatened to act against Disney and ABC over Kimmel’s remarks.

Taking to social media, he wrote, “One word – accountability. It’s a word that anyone is the spotlight should study and learn. Say what you want, but there will always be consequences. And this was decided by Disney! Wow!!”

In another post, Michael clarified that he supports free speech but emphasized that words always carry consequences, good or bad. He said his point was about accountability, which applies to everyone regardless of “sides.”

He stressed that his message wasn’t political but simply about common sense and using words wisely—constructively and positively. He closed with a note of love and respect.

“I’m not against free speech. You can say whatever you want and that’s the beauty of our country. Always will be. There will however always be consequences for our words, good or bad. We all need to use our words wisely. Constructively. Positively. Productively.
That’s why I used the word accountability. And yes, it goes both ways, on both “sides”. This isn’t about one side, it’s about every single one of us. Every person.
It wasn’t a political post, it was a common sense post. Not sure why anyone would disagree with that🤷‍♂️

Much love & respect always ~ Michael”
