MarksFriggin.com recently recapped how radio personality Howard Stern received a call from a woman who asked if he wants to interview Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor. It has noted that Howard responded in affirmation. The caller then asked if he has been asked. Howard said that he doesn’t’ bother people.

He said that most of the interviews people hear are people asking to come on the show. He said they will do an outreach and ask someone to come on. He said they’re not a pushy show. He said he doesn’t play that game of demanding that someone comes on first.

Nine Inch Nails were added to a show

Boston Calling previously revealed on April 6 that Nine Inch Nails were added as the Friday night headliner for its Memorial Day weekend festival at Allston’s Harvard Athletic Complex. The legendary industrial band will take the place of Foo Fighters, who have cancelled all upcoming live appearances after the sudden and tragic death last month of longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins.

In a cryptic post to social media, Boston Calling cited an incoming announcement and added a nail-painting emoji to their captions. That led to feverish speculation that the new headliner could be Nine Inch Nails, Lizzo, or even Machine Gun Kelly.

Nine Inch Nails will now join The Strokes (Saturday) and Metallica (Sunday) as this year’s headliners, May 27 to 29, as Boston Calling returns after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. Trent Reznor and crew will close out the opening night of the fest, which will feature performances by Rüfüs Du Sol, HAIM, Avril Lavigne, Cheap Trick, The Struts, Pom Pom Squad, as others; as well as Boston acts Avenue, Miranda Rae, and The Chelsea Curve.
