Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme was recently spotted by a fan at a comedy club in Los Angeles. The fan claimed that he saw Josh sitting in a booth by himself.

The fan revealed that he politely walked up to him, and explained how he appreciated Josh’s contribution to Queens of the Stone Age, and what he meant to the fans. The fan also told Josh to take care of his health, and Queens of the Stone Age singer was “very appreciative and super grateful,” and he was touched by hearing the remarks.
QOTSA had announced last month that they were canceling the remainder of their July tour dates due to a health emergency involving Josh Homme, who believes bands ‘have to be willing to lose fans.’
The band dropped a social media post that frontman Josh Homme “must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery.” However, the nature of his injury or ailment was not specified and the band noted “every effort was made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue.”
The health emergency impacted a mix of eight planned European headlining shows and festival appearances, beginning July 10 in Vitrolles, France and concluding July 27 in Athens.
At the time, Queens of the Stone Age’s next scheduled tour date was August 24 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The band had last performed Saturday night in Milan, Italy, after canceling their appearance at the AMA Music Festival the previous night due to unspecified illness.
Queens of the Stone Age had been on a tour in support of 2023’s In Times New Roman…, which was their first album since 2017’s Villains.
Queens of the Stone Age yet again took a step back from the road. On Friday, August 23, the “No One Knows” rockers announced the cancellation of all of their 2024 concerts due to Josh Homme receiving “essential medical care” on X (formerly Twitter).
“QOTSA regret to announce the cancellation and/or postponement of all remaining 2024 shows. Josh has been given no choice but to prioritize his health and to receive essential medical care through the remainder of the year,” Queens of the Stone Age wrote.
Before the release of their album, Homme had revealed he had been diagnosed with cancer in 2022, and had a successful operation to have it removed.
“I never say it can’t get any worse. I never say that, and I wouldn’t advise it. But I do say it can get better,” he told the outlet.
Homme added: “Cancer is just the cherry on top of an interesting time period, you know? I’m extremely thankful that I’ll get through this, and I’ll look back at this as something that’s f—ed up — but will have made me better. I’m cool with that. There’s a lot of stuff I want to do. And there’s a lot of people I want to do that with.”
